Jonny Gale powers England Men to Mixed Disability series win

England Men's Mixed Disability side took an unassailable 4-2 series lead against India at Arundel.

England Men’s MD 154-7 beat India Men’s MD 136-6 by 18 runs

England Men's Mixed Disability team left Arundel with a 100% win record after their second win in two days - and more importantly the Vitality IT20 Series after taking an unassailable 4-2 series lead with one game to go.

They had Jonny Gale to thank, scoring 77 as the hosts recovered from 69-5 to reach 154-7, a score they would defend by 18 runs after another group bowling effort with the wickets shared around and two each for Alfie Pyle and Jake Vosloo.

Gale and England had earlier benefitted from some lower-order impetus courtesy of Chris Edwards, who made a 22-ball 33 to inch England up beyond 150.

The final game of the series is at Lord's on Wednesday, at which England will lift the Vitality IT20 trophy after their third successive series triumph over India.

Captain Callum Flynn said: "I'm a very happy captain today. We needed some big performances this weekend to win this series and we've done that, and at Hove last week too.

"Jonny Gale was great today, and I'm chuffed for him. We've worked really hard as team to go 4-2 up and hopefully we can sign off at Lord's with another win - we weren't able to win there last year so we've got a big prize to aim for."
